History: We made great strides in the first 2-3 years of the project but family and career committments made it almost inevitable that the project would take a back seat. What was then an 80% complete restoration slipped back to 60% - worse as time took its toll on the work that we had done in the early days.

From time to time, our children asked if the work would be done in time for them to take their driving tests in the car, but alas that was not possible. They are now 26 and 28 years old!

The project was brought back to life in 1998 when, with the encouragement and support of Peter Green, all of the bad previous work was painstakingly unpicked and we started all over again. By then, the three owners had been reduced to one - me (fortunately!).

By June 2001 we had succeeded and the card has subsequently run for 7500 miles. There was a slight setback in October 2005, when the car suffered a seized No 3 piston following 'enthusiastic' use, so it has now been rebored to 62mm and has a set of Cosworth pistons fitted.
