Pet name of car: My favourite (Brucie see pic)
History: Bought 1995 as a bare restored shell / unfinished project with 2 engines, original, and unknown stage 1. My son and I rebuilt the car with stage 1 engine, it would not rev properly on SUs so fitted a Delorto carb, oil cooler, lumenition, classic seats, rollover bar and stiffer A/R bar and the car performed well after tuning by Tom Airey.
The car was wrecked with a rear end shunt on a trackday at Castle Coombe in 2000, and after a total rebuild of the rear end, parts from Sussex Classic Cars (thanks Greg) and resprayed using 2 pack, £3500 later, mainly labour, the car was better than new.
No more racing, the wife said !! The car faultlessy completed a tour of Sweden in March 2003, with the roof off, it has a great heater and is more comfortable on long journeys than my Volvo S70. I have since fitted a stainless performance exhaust, what a difference it made, quieter and quicker with better MPG, and front spoiler, both obtained from Silverstone 2007. It is used all year around, in the dry if possible, has been 100% reliable and will happily cruise at 80 mph where legal. I owned a 1964 1100 Midget from new for 10 years, a great car, but this is so much better.
