Chrome bumper MGB GT in need of rescue!
Not exactly a car for sale but this information was sent to us by Keith Turner... any takers?
Keith writes: "I found a chrome bumper B GT in a srap yard, blue, looks OK. All there, engine, wheels, etc. Seems a shame to see this car in there. Call Paul on 07827 473777. Amen Corner, Unit 19, Scotts Farm, Moor Lane, Bracknell, RG12 8TD, if anyone's interested."
Car has just failed MoT on some relatively minor items. The main reason for failure is "O/S rear suspension spring mounting prescribed area excessively corroded". This car had hundreds of pounds spent on it last year; it is now offered for £500. £500
1.6 petrol, low miles 18,509, in yellow, only 2 owners from new, CD player, soft top. First to see will buy. 12 months MOT and 6 months tax will be on car. £6000
Completed (about 4months ago) a complete rebuild on a new heritage body - Mineral Blue professionally painted and under sealed, steering rack, electric fan. Wire wheels stripped, galvanised and repainted. New tyres and tubes, servo brakes. Interior complete renewed. Wire loom, brake and fuel pipes, fuel tank, K & N filters.
Wood Fascia, many other parts; lights, handles, seat belt etc, anything that needed new - I bought. There are one or two small jobs still to do.
I note that adverts for a rebuild on a new shell start at £15,000 and that does not include all the new parts I have put in. Whilst I am not in business or a garage the price I need should reflect the costs involved. Perhaps you may like to contact me for pics and make a suggested offer? Sensible offers
