Boxing Day Run
Boxing Day morning saw the usual good attendance of cars assemble in Abingdon's Market Square for the Boxing Day Run. Although not due to assemble until 10:00, some cars arrived as early as 9:30, and by 10:15 the square was almost full. After a delightful 50+ mile run we ended up at The Dog House in Frilford for lunch.
A short report by organiser John Harris...
After a very cold and snowy week the weather turned up trumps again and presented us with a fine warm morning (in other words Harris fixed it again!). After several worried phone calls beforehand I wondered how many would actually venture out. I needn’t have worried, the AWC stalwarts are never put off. Over 40 cars tuned up of which 39 took part in the run. It was nice to see the Club’s YB attending and a rather interesting Police GT V8. Looking at the entry list when I got home I see we had an entry from a Keith Smith from Lexington Ky. It seem our fame has spread across the pond. (I bet he was staying with someone). My thanks again to all those who attended, it was nice to catch up with folk I haven’t seen for a while.
Happy new year to all of you. John Harris.
