January 2011 – 1966 MGB Roadster
I have production trace certificate N°96/9920 from British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and six restoration photos taken in 1993, some very grim, with 16 MOT certificates -somebody put in a lot of TLC into this car.
I also have a two-page list of replacement items and parts, mostly from eBay or auto jumbles. I know that I am the tenth owner of DJO 590D and that most of its life has been spent in Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire and now of course Berkshire. I have done very little to the car apart from the badges and the enjoyment of owning and driving it at the present time.

Planned for this year, with items purchased and sitting in my workshop, are a3 sync box and overdrive unit which I have just rebuilt ready for fitting, with a new carb and manifold also awaiting fitment. Since my purchase in May 2006 it has been on the following club outings; Oxfordshire day out, IOW weekend last September, Boxing day fun run, Cobweb web spin (cobweb wash off!) and the MGB day Cotswold run. The next entered runs are the Regency, Speckled Hen Run (hence the pub handle badge) and the Moor to Moor classic. I also enjoy driving the car to theCastle Combe Circuit to watch the season’s races -it turns quite a few heads in the car park!!! About mid June I plan to change the gearbox and carb setup and carry out some other minor repairs but do not intend having it off the road for very long.
