2011 Beachampton PoO
The sun shone, the beer was cold, the burgers were delicious, and the MG arrived in their thousands, (well, in their tens, actually). The MG Car Club’s Beachampton Natter held their annual summer Bar-Be-Que and Pride of Ownership on the 2nd Thursday of July, 14th July. In excess of 50 MGs of all ages and Models were on parade for the self judging concourse. These cars travelled from all over the Abingdon Works Centre and also from Midland Centre.
In all 17 different cars received a vote for the car most coveted, which just goes to show that there is an MG to cater for all tastes. The Ken King trophy for the pre 1950s car was won for the second year in succession by the beautiful MG L2 belonging to George Eagle. Albeit not an MG, but the immaculate AC Aceca belonging to Len Goff won the Little Horwood shield for the best post 1950s car. This was also the second year that the Aceca won the award.
Maybe on the 2nd Thursday in July 2012 we can make it 60 plus MGs!
