2015 Winchester Science Centre Visit
The Abingdon Works Centre Wanderers’ visit to the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium was well attended despite dire warnings of monsoon-like weather all day! The first stop was lunch at The Golden Lion, just a couple of miles from the Winchester Science Centre, which served excellent food with a smile.
Suitably refreshed, we moved on to the main attraction, where the ‘children’ were free to play to their hearts’ content in the Science Centre. At 2.20 we went into the Planetarium, where we were treated to a specially arranged showing, during which most of us managed to stay awake… some snoozing was inevitable in a darkened room with reclined seating after a good lunch!
The day was very kindly organised by Kevin and Anna Wright whose usual thorough job was appreciated by all.
