2016 Wanderers Pendon Museum Visit
February’s day out was a visit to the Pendon Museum. in a charming village called Long Wittenham, near Abingdon. Following the previous day’s brilliant sunshine, the continuous rain was a bit of a comedown, but we hoped that the museum would make up for it. Knowing that the museum would be busy that day, we headed for the car park of The Plough, just a couple of hundred yards’ walk away.
There was a wait to get into the museum but at least we were under cover! Once in, we were amazed by the detailed model villages, railways and waterside dioramas, each showing incredible detail for such a scale. Hopefully the photos below will give you some idea of how good it was.
Lunch time and we departed for The Plough where we had time to dry out and sample their excellent food.
