24th Boxing Day Run
With their owners and passengers mingling with passers-by, both taking the opportunity to blow
away the lethargy brought upon by the festivities of the day before, Abingdon’s Market Place was
filled with MGs and an Austin for the Annual Boxing Day meet. Whilst it was cold, it was bright and
seasonably warm if you stood in the sunshine! After the strong winds and heavy overnight rain, this
was a welcome relief to organiser Mike Parker.
After a few words of welcome from Mike, those who wanted to, set off on a rural road run which finished at the Black Horse pub in Gozzards Ford, on the old factory test route, just outside Abingdon. Others elected to stay chatting in the Market Place for a while longer before heading directly to the Black Horse.
